I’d be just fine if Criterion announced a blu-ray upgrade of their “A Film Trilogy by Ingmar Bergman” set. I’d also be more than fine if they included The Virgin Spring. As a little piece of trivia- Bergman said on several occasions that the trilogy was actually The Virgin Spring, Through a Glass Darkly, Winter Light as opposed to those three released by Criterion, often called the “Death of God” or “Silence of God” trilogy, Through a Glass Darkly, Winter Light, and The Silence. And of course sometimes he thought the whole idea of a trilogy was silly and that other people were trying to force this idea onto his work.

I’ve always thought this. The idea of a trilogy seems forced especially with The Silence.

I WISH THIS WOULD HAPPEN. But aren’t they doing an Autumn Sonata upgrade first?
